We have great pleasure in placing this text book on “Management Accounting I’’ before the students of the First Year of M. Com. Programme of the Kavayitri Bahinabai Chaudhari North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon (KBCNMU) under the NEP-2020 structure. The paper of Management Accounting -I has been prescribed as Mandatory Course No DSC 16 of Two-years’ PG Programme ‘Master of Commerce’.
The DSC 16 course covers (1) Paper Code No 412A- Management Accounting-I for the students opting for Advanced Accountancy as the major subject, and (2) Paper Code No 412B- Management Accounting-I for the students opting for Advanced Costing as the major subject. The syllabus of these papers is similar, and it is for 4 credits carrying 100 marks.
This book has been designed and written specifically for the students preparing for the M.Com. Semester-I Examinations of the KBCNMU. It has been written according to the revised syllabus prescribed for the DSC 16 course of First Semester of the First Year of M Com under the NEP 2020 being implemented w.e.f. June, 2023 by the KBCNMU, Jalgaon.
We have tried to make this book useful for the students pursuing the M Com programme of the KBCNMU, the M Com programme of Moolji Jaitha College (Autonomous), Jalgaon, and M.Com programme of Pratap College (Autonomous), Amalner.
It is also useful for the students preparing for the professional examinations of the I.C.A.I., the I.C.W.A.I., the I.C.S.I. and other professional courses like MBA, and such other management courses as well as competitive examinations.
