It gives us an immense pleasure and satisfaction to put this book
Angiosperm Taxonomy for Semester – III in the hands of S.Y.BSc Botany
students and teachers. This text has been written according to the new revised
syllabus of S.Y.BSc (DSC- 5, BO-211) of Kavayitri Bahinabai Chaudhari, North
Maharashtra University, Jalgaon as per NEP 2020 which has been implemented
from the academic year 2025-26.
The writing of this book strongly influenced by the major purpose to help
the students to understand the taxonomic affairs of Angiospermic plants. The
topics in the syllabus have introduced Taxonomic Botany at primary level with
better perspectives. This book covers all the aspects of Angiosperms taxonomy
as per syllabus. It has been written in student friendly manner with efforts on
making subject matter up to date and concise. We have tried to make this book
informative, simple and lucid. This matter has been augmented with appropriate
figures and illustrations with questions pertaining to the chapters are given at
the end of chapters. We hence, believe that students of S.Y.BSc. Botany will
certainly like and appreciate this book. We hope that interest of the teachers and
students will generate after understanding the subject.
Though extreme care has been taken while writing, editing and proof
reading of the book, some mistakes might have been left unnoticed. The proper
