B.Sc. Botany students, designed in alignment with the guidelines of the National
Education Policy (NEP) 2020. This book is structured to meet the needs of the
updated curriculum and to support a holistic, interdisciplinary, and applicationoriented
approach to learning biological sciences.
Biofertilizers represent an eco-friendly alternative to chemical fertilizers,
playing a critical role in sustainable agriculture and environmental conservation.
This textbook introduces students to the world of biofertilizers, highlighting
their types, production, mechanisms of action, and benefits in enhancing soil
fertility and crop productivity.
The book follows the NEP’s Learning Outcomes-based Curriculum
Framework (LOCF), ensuring that students not only gain conceptual clarity but
also develop practical skills, critical thinking, and environmental responsibility.
The book also includes diagrams, MCQs, short and long answer questions, to
