The Knowledge of biochemistry is necessary to understand the various physiological processes those occur in living organism. Without any background, knowledge of biochemistry subject biology cannot be learned properly. In most of the Indian Universities biochemistry is adopted as an independent course.
The book is written primarily to serve as a text for introductory course for Zoology students at the graduate level. The book is written with limited objectives of familiarizing the biology students with the chemistry of biological molecules. The stress is on the implications of chemical structure and properties on biological activities.
