We are pleased to present the textbook titled “EL-217: Introduction to Google Apps”,
developed as per the revised syllabus under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020,
specifically designed for undergraduate students from non-science faculties as part of
their Open Elective (OE) course. This book aims to equip students with essential digital
skills by introducing them to the powerful suite of Google applications that are widely
used for personal, academic, and professional productivity.
The contents of this book are structured to provide a step-by-step understanding of
various Google Apps and their practical applications. The key topics covered include:
Introduction to Google Apps: Overview, features, benefits, and how these tools support
collaboration and efficiency. Google Drive, Docs, and Forms: Basics of cloud storage,
document creation, and data collection using online forms. Google Slides and Sheets:
Creating interactive presentations and managing data through spreadsheets. Google Sites:
Introduction, importance, and uses of building simple websites for portfolios, project
sharing, and communication.
