We are very glad to present this book on CH-203 “Practical Chemistry’’ in the hands of F.Y.B.Sc. students. The book is strictly written according to the semester pattern syllabus framed by the board of studies in Chemistry, KBC NMU Jalgaon, for First year B.Sc to be implemented from August 2022 and is written in very simple language giving exhaustive details. The book will help students performing experiments in effective way. We hope, this book will be useful for students and teachers.
Physical Chemistry Experiments
1. Determination of surface tension by drop number method of given liquid by using stalagnometer.
2. Determination of surface tension of given liquid by drop weight method using stalagnometer.
3. Determination of heat of solution of KNO3 / NH4Cl by water equivalent method.
4. Determination of normality and strength of acid (HCl/CH3COOH) conductometrically.
5. Determination of solubility and solubility product of sparingly soluble salt, conductometrically.
6. To standardize commercial sample of HCl using Borax and to write material safety data of the chemicals involved.
Analytical Chemistry Experiments
1. Preparation of standard 0.1N Na2CO3 solution and standardization of HCl solution.
2. Preparation of 0.1 N oxalic acid solution and standardization of KMnO4 solution.
3. Preparation of 0.1 N Na2S2O3 solution and estimation of Cu (II) ions iodometrically.
4. Determination of total hardness of water.
Inorganic Qualitative Analysis
Analysis of inorganic compound containing one cation and anion.
